How to celebrate Mother's Day?

I know a lot of people have already celebrated Mother's Day with their mom.. u know, to avoid the massive crowd on the actual day, which falls on the coming Sunday. I used to celebrate with my mom a week earlier, cos we can get a place in a nice restaurant without problem.

This year, when my bro was still in KL a week back, my mom suddenly had another brilliant idea on her mind. Since she will be going to Taiwan end of this month for a 6 days vacation with my aunt, she suggested that we gave her the cash instead of the "expensive" meal that we are gonna get her. Wow, mom nowadays are getting smarter with $$ (well, mebbe they have always been).

So deal, bro left without a proper Mother's Day celebration.

Then yesterday, while she was watching the TV, she changed her mind. Dunno what struck her in the advertisement that she was staring at the moment, she would love to have a gift instead of the cash now. And as usual, she told us what she wanted us to get, BRAND'S® Bird's Nest. Well, that is absolutely fine with me, as long as she know what she wants.

Today, while we were talking with my aunts about the promotions available for Mother's Day in the newspaper, i saw some sparks in her eyes. That's it, i knew she is going to change her mind again.. and BINGO, i was right. She was thinking to have a celebration too.

So now she has suggested cash for the trip, the bird nest and a celebration. Did i tell u that initially, she also suggested that we buy her a pair of comfortable shoes for her trip? That proposal didnt make the cut cos she cant find a suitable pair. I wonder which one is the best Mother's Day present that she want?

My mom is really unpredictable, i tell u.

If she decided to go for celebrations, any idea for a good nice worthy meal?

Jane, don't ruin your mom's stomach and her journy to taiwan, LOL.

I bet at this point of time you are going to squeeze with the crowds. And those places without crowds might not be good choice.

Cook her maggie mee. She will be very touched!

my take is, give her some cash and cook her a hearty meal at home! With that, it's really 'heart' and 'mind' gift!

louis: what? cook her maggi mee? i think she would rather have me tapao-ing for her from the hawker stall. at least more variety.. hahhaa :P

btw, i can cook a decent meal ok..

laymank: in the end, i brought her out for some simple meal in a "fix priced" restaurant (eg. in the shopping mall) and went shopping after that! keke.. good for both me and her.. :)
