Freedom smells good!

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
(Oh) I believe I can fly
by: R. Kelly

Yes, u heard me. I am officially free today cos I have finally completed my 3 years bond with my company. It sure comes faster when u least expecting it. If i were to keep on counting the days, it must have felt like eternity. ^_^

"why are u being bonded?"
"cos i agreed to become their slave?" *ngek*ngek*ngek*
"wei..."
"haha, just joking. i took their scholarship to support my uni fees, so im bonded to work for them for a period of 3 years"
"so long..."

It wasnt that long if you were a fresh grad and u could learn alot during your stay in the company. Trust me, i have survived it! And so can u.

Coming back to the scholarship thingy, it was really a surprise, although i really wanted that $$. My first attempt for scholarship from the Berjaya Group was unsuccessful. But due to my "sad" and "poor" situation, they overrided their policy and gave me some contributions which helped me through my expenses for the first year.

Then I came upon the scholarship offer advertisement while i was looking at the uni's notice board in between my classes, one fine and sunny day. It was a cutout from The Star paper, together with some other offers from the Government, companies, private foundation group and even the state's ministry.

I was so excited when i got to know that i was shortlisted for an interview in Seremban. But the confirmation letter was delivered late (a day before the interview date), so i did not have the time to inform them of my attendance. When i called them earlier that morning, thinking that i could arrange for a later time so that i could still rushed to the place, they told me that i need to be there from 8am till 2pm. There were activities arranged for us to take part and for them to evaluate our performance.

I was left dumb-founded.

Luckily, the lady on the phone was very kind and considerate. She tried to help me to settle the interview arrangement issue and told me to go there as soon as possible. I grabbed my bro along to accompany me to the bus station in Pudu Raya and took a shuttle bus down the Seremban town. By the time i reached the company's guard house, it was already 11am. I was getting nervous, not knowing what should i be expecting next. Anyhow, i gave my best, instead of letting the opportunity fly off and go down the drain just like that.

I was led into the largest conference room in the company, called Matahari Room. I dont know who actually named these rooms, there is one called Tanjung Room too. These names are related to flowers, i guess that person likes flowers a lot. Haha..

There were about 10 candidates inside Matahari, all complete with their formal clothes, charming smile and stacks of certs on their hands. I was not introduced to the others at all, because i was then became an instant celebrity and was nicknamed "the latecomer". O_o

"oh, so u are the latecomer"
"yea..." *sigh*
"come and have a seat, ur interview is next"
"erm, thanks for the hospitality..." *hide face*

I was the last one to be interviewed, well, actually that was the first and the only thing i did since i stepped into the company. I missed the rest of the activities plus the production line tour. But i was given the same set of free goodies bag lar, a token of appreciation from them.

The interview was supposed to be serious at the beginning. It was a one-to-one thing, with the HR Manager then. Guess what! The first thing he asked me was the reason why i was late. I practically felt like stucking my face under the earth like the ostrich cos it was pretty embarrasing, u know. But everything went smooth after that, i guess the reason i gave was very concrete and convincing.. :P

My neck aint long enufff to do the same... *muahaha*

I was given the full permission and opportunity to express myself. We were pretty much like having a normal and casual conversation, which actually eased me a lot. When i got out from the interview room, i was so relieved, like moving a big rock from my chest. *phew*

I was really thankful that i have managed to secure the scholarship despite me being late for the whole interview session, which is actually not really my fault. It was the postman who should be blame... I have done my best to get there as fast as i could, only that i was taking a bus, and not a jet plane. So there is a limit of the speed that i could achieve..

Anyhow, I would like to dedicate my greatest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the receptionist back then (she has already resigned when i started working there 3 years ago) for guiding me the way to the office, my bro who has spent his precious time to accompany me to Seremban and waited for me outside in the guardhouse in hunger while i was having the interview and lunch inside (u are the cool one), the then HR Manager, Mr. Kamaldin for giving me that opportunity to explain and present myself and also believing in me for the capability i claimed to have and last but not the least, my mom for supporting me all these while until the time i managed to get a scholarship for my studies (initially, she did not allow me to go for this interview cos it was too far and she was worried for my safety).

Without u guys, there will not be me sitting here today. And i wont be happily celebrating the end of my bond now. *hee*

By the way, today is April Fool's day. Be careful of your frens and colleagues who might play a prank on you!

Look out behind u!
There is a cockroach underneath your table!
Your clothes is dirty as a result of your impatience during lunch!

I was tricked once this morning..

And before i forget, today is also the 3rd death anniversary of the HK King of Pop, Leslie Cheung. A lot of people still miss him dearly. It is a lost to the entertainmet industry when he commited suicide without any notice. May you rest in peace!

Learning Malay

Malay is not something that is strange to me.

I was brought up in a Malay environment, staying in a 90% Malay populated kampung. I hung out mostly with my Malay frens, lepaking at their house, playing with their family members, frens and neighbours. So i knew a lot about their daily customs, games, thoughts and beliefs.

I was educated in Malay schools, both primary and secondary ~ which explains why i only know how to read limited Mandarin words. (There is actually a story behind the reason why my mom enrolled me in a Malay school, tell u guys some other time in another post).

There were only 3 Chinese girls (including me) and a Chinese guy in my class during primary. That guy was very naughty back then, so i didnt like to play with him. He had his own group of frens, while i had mine. We never cross each other's path, unless we really REALLY have to...

Nah, we were never enemies. We just dont like to mix with each other :P

And I could still remember my best fren, a Malay girl named Irna Maya. We were very close, going almost everywhere together. She is a very smart student so we always tried to challenge each other in every way. They say healthy competitions lead to improvements..

We volunteered for chances -
to read an article during English lesson.
to help the teacher write the exercise on the blackboard.
to clean the written backboard with a duster.
etc..etc..

Can u just believe how kiddo we were, merely just wanted to be the outstanding one in school. Small kids.. but those were the good times..

But there is one special experience that i could never forget for the rest of my life. Everytime i think of it, it brings a wide grin on my face.

Me and my Chinese frens speak Malay to each other too, either in school or even on the phone. The only time i speak Cantonese (except at home), is when i called them and their parents picked up the phone. I asked for their daughter in pure Cantonese dialect, but after that we switched back to the old national language again. Weird huh??!

As such, it is a very common thing for me to always been mistaken as a Malay girl. I was very dark last time (cos everyday have to assemble under the hot sun) and speaks fluent Bahasa Melayu. They were confused and i was being asked numerous time "Ah Moi, awak ni orang Melayu ke orang Cina?". O_o

OK, enuff of the old stories for now.

So yesterday, i wore a long Batik skirt to work. A colleague send me a message after lunch.

"asalam mualaikum"
"walaikum muasalam" *people greet u, u must greet back*
"Hari ne, ah moi manyak special dengan baju malayu"
"sudah pakai beberapa kali lar, kau tak pernah tengok ke?"
"Bukan kebiasaan bagi orang biasa seperti saya melihat gadis berbaju melayu di pejabat ini"
"kalau macam tu, biasakan diri sekarang. bukannya istimewa sangat"
"hari hari istimewa, kan bagus"
"haha.. hari ini jadi orang melayu.."
"hari bila jadi orang india? i bawa camera" *all of a sudden, he tried to berpantun*
"erm.. sudah pernah jadi orang india. semasa service banquet di Putrajaya.. " *i promptly replied his pantun*
"bila jadi orang zaman batu.... pakai baju berbulu...." *aik*
"baju berbulu, bukan untuk orang yang sudah maju" *hahaha*

It is definitely fun working in this kind of environment, with hilarious colleagues around. ^_^

Is your house warm enuff?

If you think it is not enuff, go throw a house warming party. We will try our best to make it warmer for u, provided there is enough food for us to whack!! Hehe..

So there we were at Casa Puteri, Puchong for my friend's house (or more specifically, "condo") warming party last weekend. His place is quite simple but nice, with only the basic furnitures, cos he is currently staying alone and only during the weekends. One thing not so good about here is there is only limited number of visitor's parking space. Most of us have to park illegally beside the road outside his condominium.

The nice swimming pool.

I luv this stand lamp!

U know when the guys are acting super lazy when only the girls were helping out with the food in the kitchen. And they were lazying around in the living room watching TV and drinking beer. -_-

See this.

And this. He dont look any sober to me..

These people. Not that they have to do much, we are having steamboat la wey... Just wash the raw food and bring it out to the serving tables. *tsk*tsk*tsk*

No offence ar..

But the amount of food that the host bought earlier in the morning at the supermart really gave me a shock. He really thought that we are some hungry lions with the stomache of a cow and the size of a pig, is it? They were bought in kilos .. my goodness!

The Tom Yam soup is really good though, they bought it all the way from Seremban and mixed it with milk. Tasted like Tomyam + curry, superbly deeellliiiccciiioous! But towards the end, we were short of tomyam soup, so they added hot water and milk instead.. feels like drinking milk then.... *ewww*

I switched my preference to the clear soup after that. Haha.. dont wanna get diarrhea mar.

The entourage happily crashing the place.

One of them bought a butter cake, which looked like those traditional wedding cakes. We were totally speechless, and lost the appetite to have a BIG bite (please refer to the picture of the yellow cake above). Erm, please get the usual cheese cake from Secret Recipe next time...

And as usual, there were a lot of left overs. "Nice work" on doing the groceries, memang certified no experience. Yup, no denial at all. At least i am better than him when it comes to estimations.. *muahaha*

Due to the lack of fridge in his new home, we were forced to tapao back all the raw food on the table. Or else, he will have to eat them the next day for at least 3 meals. O_o

It's damn funny when my mom thought i really went to the market when i showed her the plastic bag i brought back. Yea, free groceries and veges from Puchong .. :)

Luck is not on my side

And i thought i was lucky when i narrowly missed an accident last week while i was driving back home after my dance class. But i was happy way too early..

This morning, while i was stuck in a stupid traffic jam as usual, the car in front of mine suddenly surprised me with an emergency halt. I was given only less than one second to step on my brake, but it wasnt enough. My car slowed down but f*cking unfortunately managed to hit the bumper of the front car becoming coming to a stop. At that moment, all that could come out from my mouth is "SHIT!".

It was a lady driver, and i released a sigh of relief. Not that i'm being racist or something, but i was really glad that it wasnt a male driver. U know how uncivilized and abusive some guys could be when they knew they are dealing with a female. They thought they are the superior ones and they assumed that they know almost anything or at least more than what a lady should comprehend.

We stopped our car by the roadside, so that it wont worsen the already bad traffic. I checked out her car first, cos anyhow, i was the one in fault by knocking her car from behind. She wasnt getting anything serious, just the plate number was broken a bit. The bumper still in place, but she claimed that it was broken too. -_-

My car was on the other hand, more serious than hers. Obviously a local Proton car cannot be compared with her old Nissan car. My front bumper was out of shape, being pushed inside. I didnt realised it at first cos the first thing i looked at was my plate number, and it was perfectly ok. Then only the bigger damage came into the picture. I was sad. Yea, i was seriously sad. *waa*

*sob*sob*

I wanted to pay her for the plate number, i know it isnt that much. But she was a bit hesitant to receive the money and keep on saying she wasnt sure how much it cost and also if she needs to change her bumper too. What? *im starting to doubt her motive*

So she took my number and my business card and say she will call me. I took her number too, and jot down her car number, just in case.

Why is this happening to me at this time? Im about to spend a lump sum of money for my trip next week, my road tax and insurance, and now fixing my own car! I certainly wouldnt want to spend more on paying her damage when it could just be a small fix on the car plate. I'm feeling damn angry with myself for being so careless today.

I dunno what my mom will say about this. She will definitely burst out in anger, although the car is mine and i pay for everything! I am so unhappy... i have no mood to work. *sigh*

Good Samaritan

I've witnessed a wonderful thing on my way back home just now and i thought to myself, i must blog about this and give credits to him.

For those who didnt know (except for Peky, i know what u are going to say about this..), there is one part of the road to my house which is rather steep, going upwards just like driving up a hill. If you are lucky, u can accelerate and drive up without having much problem. But there are times when there is car(s) coming from the right side of the road (it was unfortunately a T-junction by fact, right in the middle of the steep road. Can u just believe how "great" and "safe" is the infrastructure at my area?), u will have to stop the car and wait for your turn. Now this is where u practice and apply your balancing skill that u've learned during the driving lessons. :P

So there was this old and disabled Indian man, riding a motorcycle for the disabled people, with an extra wheel on each side of his rear wheel. He was going up the steep road when he has to stop to allow the incoming cars to pass first. As he was about to accelerate and resume his journey, his bike somehow couldnt accumulate enough energy and power to move a single bit. It was merely enough for him and his bike to maintain his current position and not to roll down the road. O_o

I was weak, not knowing how i can help him, as i was driving in my own vehicle, a few cars behind. And at that split second, came a saviour!

A Chinese man who was in the nearby mamak stall, happened to see what was going on and came to his rescue. He pushed the Indian man's bike up the road, giving him the sufficient support for his vehicle to move slowly. When they were at the top of the road, he was given thumbs up by everyone including the Indian man. *applause*

This shows how helpful our multi-racial community is, at least in my residential area. I am so proud of him. ^_^

But i guess these good deeds from the few samaritans can never balance out the number of crimes happened in the country. Let us pray for the better. *cross-finger*

Vote for me!

I know what is your reaction after reading the title. Calm down, take a deep breath and i'll explain why.

Recently, I have joined the Asian Hottest Blogger contest for the month of March. *gasp* I know some of you must be wondering "What? Is she doing this for real?". Well, yes, April Fool is just around the corner, but i'm not joking about this.

I came across this contest thingy thru a fren some time back. I was hesitant to take part in the beginning, cos i know i am not a very good blogger and as a matter of fact, i just started blogging less than a year ago. Moreover, this is the Asian Hottest Blogger contest and I am perfectly sure that i am NOT in that category at all, not even near.

But a brilliant idea struck my mind. Maybe i'll just join for the fun of it. This is something different that i have never done before and god knows what i could gain at the end of the contest. Maybe i'll be a better blogger in the future. Anyhow, getting a very low votes is something that i have already expected, so i wont be disappointed or sad or anything. Im just gonna enjoy the process of blogging in a public site and pull votes once in a while.

When i first told a friend about this, he laughed at me.

"u are going to lose"
"why u say so? the result is not out yet.." *although i know for sure what he say is right*
"do u think a lady in the 20's can fight with the girls in their teens? Come on, face the fact, u are old dy!"
"oh, im just joining for fun not to win, but can u at least be supportive a bit?" -_-"
"they are all so young and pretty, im gonna vote for them as well.. hahhaa.." *he continued on, and on*

Darn, so fast splashing me with a big bucket of cold water. But its ok... looking at the number of votes now, i dont expect myself to win either. Just purposely pulling his leg ;)

To cast your vote, you will have to sign up as a member by filling up a simple form. Please click here. Remember to login to your email account to click on the verification link to verify your email address.

Once that is done, login to the member’s area and vote! Click on the “Freebies” link to download your Free Gift (worth US $397). It is that easy.

Before i forget, I really appreciate those who has helped in voting for me. As for the rest, start voting now....

Arigatou.

An early Cheng Beng

I had only 4 hours of sleep this morning. *yawn*

My mom almost need to throw me out of the bed cos I was still sleeping when she called me around 4.15am. I was in the mid of a sweet dream, thus explaining why i was so reluctant to wake up. Talking about "good" timing... *sigh*

Me and my families were one of the earliest to arrive @ the cemetery near Jln Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka, for our yearly visit in conjuction of the Cheng Beng Festival (also known as QingMing Festival). I was so relief because there was once, we were stucked in the traffic miles away and we were forced to leave our car (with only the driver inside) in the highway and walk to my grandparent's tomb. What an exercise in the wee hours! Not that i am complaining, but it is always better to be able to reach there in the comfort of a four wheel vehicle. *using a defending tone*

Few days ago, my uncle has hired someone to clean the cemetery area, cutting off the wild grass and clearing the walk way, therefore, we didnt expect to do much today. But there was a big surprise waiting there patiently for us. The irresponsible grass cutter has left the mud and the dead grasses inside the cemetery compound, hence creating a small flood after the heavy rain. What the ****! So instead of having to do nothing, we had to scoop the mud and dirty water out, for a good 30 minutes. *look at self, with alot of mud on the clothes and hand*

As tired as we could be, there was still another round of praying and libation offering back home. Food is prepared and placed on the table while we burned the incense one by one. This is a common custom among the Chinese.

Some of the food prepared.

Burn..burn..burn...

After that, we rushed to the Nirvana Memorial Park for my dad. He has been there for 9 years but his burial tomb is still in great shape. Well, Nirvana has a good reputation for their excellent services and the place is still expanding. I wonder how much money they have earned so far.

Anyway, there is something that has always been lingering in my mind. Does this mean the people nowadays are more respect towards the dead ones, giving them a more beautiful and modern place for their afterlife, OR they are neglecting their responsibilities during this day cos they can just simply pay the management to do the praying and offering for them? What do you think?

Hopefully, the services that are provided by the memorial park didnt give them an excuse to spend this only day/time of the year to remember and honour their ancestors. -_-

Sitting here now, after taking a hot shower, surfing the net and with a can of 100 Plus on the table is simply marvellous. But my fingers is hurting me while i'm typing this, cos i accidentally burnt them while i was tossing the joss paper into the fire.

This is the joss paper that im talking about, in case u are wondering. :)

Melted

I know exactly what you are thinking right now. I feel the same.

The moment i saw his photo, with a rose in his hand and that charming smile, it just took me away, sweeping me off my feet. How can a man in his 40's (i think, or mebbe he is even older than that??) can be so charming and attractive?

I know Peky would have printed out this picture and stick it on the wall of her bedroom/cubicle, saving this image and put it as wallpaper/screen saver for her computer, dreaming of marrying him every day and night.

*muahaha*

My dear, if you are reading this, please stop drooling while looking at his picture and resume your work. Ur boss might be watching you from behind. *look back, left and right*

Oh god.

Happy Birthday Louis!

Another year has gone by, and you are a year "wider", oopppss, supposed to be wiser. *grins* It has been about 4 months since u left us for Clarke, Phillipines but the days when you were still with us will never be forgotten. It shall be kept in our heart, always.

I knew you dont have anyone close around there to give u a massive celebration. But dont you worry, we will celebrate here on your behalf! Haha... U will surely gonna miss us BIG TIME! *ngek*ngek*ngek*

Ok, i think i should stop before i get whacked. Last but not least, Happy Birthday once again! May all your wishes come true soon!

Call me when u are back and we will have another celebration, but this time is ON YOU! :)

Narrow escape

It was really a close call. I was just barely 1cm away. *cold sweat*

You wouldnt have believe how close i was to engage with an accident last night. Now i am more thankful and contented with my life than ever before. I just felt so relieved after the narrow escape. *phew*

And at this moment, i truly understand why those prisoners will only repent or listen to their loved ones after they have been sentenced to death, when at the beginning they only turn a deaf ear and thought they were always doing the right thing. And i also understand why the husband will only appreciate his wife after they were divorced or she has passed away, when at the beginning he was supposed to be the happiest person in the whole world because of his loving and caring wife. And the list goes on....

How many will get a 2nd chance in their life? Another chance to turn a new leaf and lead a better life, another chance to love and to be loved again, another chance to even just survive.

Why do people only regret when there is no turning back?

My advice, appreciate whatever you have around you. Live the best out of it, it may be a small little stone now but who knows it might turn out to be a priceless gem in the future. U just never know. Diamond was not made in a day, but hundreds and thousands of years. Remember that.

And before i forget, do take care and drive carefully on the road. It is raining alot lately and the road is slippery. Someone is waiting for you back home :)

Crawling...

How is your Streamyx performance lately?

Mine was terrible and they are crawling like a tortoise for the past few days. I dont know what happened in the background, but as a consumer, i am pretty sure their service is degrading! There is even at one point, my Streamyx was unavailable for 2 days. The DSL light kept on blinking, indicating broadband could not be detected/connected. O_o

Yesterday, it took me about 3 minutes to load a simple page. Three-f*cking-minutes. In the end, I gave up my intention to go online and watched my downloaded movies instead. I'm really disappointed with all these "over-rated" broadband services they are promoting.

Darn. And my Streamyx bill is coming soon.... *slap forehead*

How to save fuel?

The recent price hike in petrol has been causing a lot of commotion among the people in our country. Some voiced out their satisfactions thru the daily papers, some in the local radio stations and some even made a more extreme move to stage a protest in the KL city center.

We can't really blame these people for acting such a way because the 30 cents increase is indeed too sudden and too much for them to bear. Those in the lower and middle range income have been impacted the most. They can barely survive even before the hike.

Last Sunday, I came across this article written by a reader of The Star paper. It was a sarcastic letter that teaches everyone how to save fuel, which is in a way disapproving and condemning the recent increase.

1. Don't signal - ever
Not that Malaysians use their indicator anyway but it is an even more compelling reason not to waste energy on that blinking light.

2. Don't park in multi-storey car parks
Going up and down ramps burns fuel. Better to just leave the car outside on a single yellow line.

3. Don't brake for bumps
Braking burns fuel so just keep accelerating over speed bumps.

4. Commute off-peak
Avoid the rush hour traffic by going into work at 10am and coming home at 3pm.

5. Delay switching on headlights
Wait until it gets really dark or until someone flashes you before switching on the headlights.

6. Sing
Radio music is lousy anyway. Sing to entertain yourself instead of letting your Blaupunkt burn more fuel.

7. Carpool
Cram as many poeple as possible into your Kancil. Besides, the added weight helps with braking.

8. Smoke cigarettes
You will naturally open your window to smoke so this saves on air-con usage.

9. Coast downhill
Turn off the engine and free up gear when going down a slope. Let gravity do the work, not petrol.

10. Invest in body kits
Making the car more aero-dynamic with sporty skirting and spoilers reduces drag and fuel consumption.

11. Use 18-inch rims
Big rims mean less tyre material, i.e. rubber. Therefore less rubber is burnt while driving.

12. Drive on the line
Align the middle of the car on the line that divides two lanes on a dual carriageway. This reduces the need to make sharp turns as you are effectively using the racing line.

13. Go through red lights
If you are in front at a traffic light, go straight on. Braking hard for a yellow or red lights burns fuel.

14. Use high gears
Try to go from first straight to fourth. Keep the revs to below 1000rpm.

15. Take MCs
Utilise your entitlement to the max. Everyday that you don't go to work is RM saved on fuel, toll, parking, etc.

16. Use the emergency lane
Why sit idle in traffic when you can gain ground efficiently on the extra lane?

17. Speed
The faster you reach your destination, the less fuel you use.

MATTA MITM Fair 2006

The travel frenzy starts all over again!

Yes, it is the most anticipated MATTA Fair, held @ PWTC from 17th to 19th March 2006. And as usual, it was the talk of the day since the past few days. Everyone around me were talking about the nice places to go, the historic city to visit, the destination to fly to and etc, etc. A lot of us here already have some plans settled in our mind.

First up is the quest to conquer the Mount Kota Kinabalu by a bunch of my colleagues, next week. Faster go and take our company's flag and place it on top of the mountain.. and take a pic. *proud*

Look at the nice view. I was supposed to go along... :(

This is followed by another two heading for free and easy in Bangkok (with the free Air Asia tickets). How lucky of them. Can save up to Rm600 per person, u know. I am a bit regret not being able to snap up any during the promotion period. *sigh*

Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall & Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall @ The Grand Palace.

Next month, im leaving for the land Down Under myself. Its gonna be a packed and fun trip cos i have a lot of places listed down. Greedy greedy me :) The constraint is going to be on the time and $$. You might see me staying in the office during lunch time after the trip, having only bread or maggi as my source of energy. -_-

Australia's Gold Coast.

Melbourne.

Victoria's Great Ocean Road.

Last but not least, one is going for diving in Redang almost at the same time as my trip. We will have a licensed diver soon! Cool huh?! ;P

Oh, i am in a holiday mood! *dum*dee*dum*

Something touching

You have to read this it is absolutely beautiful......

Each year he sent her roses,
and the note would always say,
I love you even more this year,
than last year on this day.
My love for you will always grow,
with every passing year."

She knew this was the last time
that the roses would appear.
She thought, he ordered roses
in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know,
that he would pass away.

He always liked to do things early,
way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy,
everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems and
placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside
the portrait of his smiling face.

She would sit for hours,
In her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture,
and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was
to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude,
that had become her fate.

Then, the very hour,
The doorbell rang, and there
were roses sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in,
and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone,
to call the florist shop.

The owner answered, and she asked him,
if he would explain, Why would someone would do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away,
more than a year ago,"
The owner said,
"I knew you'd call, and you would want to know.
The flowers you received today,
were paid for in advance.
Your husband always planned ahead,
he left nothing to chance.
There is a standing order,
that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance,
you'll get them every year.

There also is another thing,
that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago.
Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here, that's the card that should be sent to you the following year."

She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking,
as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence,
this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year
since I've been gone.
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.
I know it must be lonely,
and the pain is very real.

Or if it was the other way,
I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything
so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say,
you were the perfect wife.
You were my friend and lover,
you fulfilled my every need.
I know it's only been a year,
but please try not to grieve.

I want you to be happy,
even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.
When you get these roses,
think of all the happiness that we had together, and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and
I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on,
you have some living still.

Please...try to find happiness,
while living out your days.
I know it is not easy,
but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year,
and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered,
when the florist stops to knock.
He will come five times that day,
in case you have gone out.
But after his last visit,
he will know without a doubt!
To take the roses to the place,
where I've instructed him
and place the roses where we are,
together once again.

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend; Someone who changes your life just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just waiting for you to open it.

So, enjoy your life with no regrets at the end of the day.... Have a wonderful day...

Press space bar

How many of you guys read the instruction and the rules of the game first before playing?

I do read them, especially some new games that i have not played before. As for the bejeweled game, i read the instruction after playing 3 games, in order to find some tips on how to score higher. Some gave technics and shortcuts that are quite useful.

Me and my colleagues were chatting randomly just now, after office hours. Suddenly Sudoko came into the topic. It has become increasingly famous lately, with The Star paper publishing one Sudoko puzzle daily. I have never played this game before, maybe i should give it a try sometime. And i was reminded to read the instruction, u know, for first timer.

But the conversation about reading instructions before playing game became rather interesting. Some say they dont need to read them, cos it is just a waste of time. There is not much info we could get from there, or so they thought. So i throw out a question.

"do u know how to pause the bejeweled game?"
"i know! press the upgrade button!"

I was left laughing my lungs out, trying to take some short breath intermittenly. Oh gosh, what a joke! But i dont blame them (seriously i dont... i just couldnt control myself from laughing), it is already very good for those who did not read the instructions but then being able to find out a way to pause the game, although not in a correct way. At least they have achieved the goal.

"no lar. press the space bar dude.." -_-
"ohh.. ooppss"

O_o

Btw, u guys still remember this psycho in our office building in Jeff's blog previously? Well, he is still remained as anonymous, cos we couldnt figure out who is the culprit. No one heard about him being caught and one of the guys saw the "thing" again on the toilet floor today. Yukks.. why is he acting so disgusting? Is his aiming really that bad? I thought the toilet bowl is quite big and there is enuff space for him to get closer too if he is short sighted! Darn..

Oh, it's time to go for dancing class again. Later.

I am Nanny Jane

School holidays have begun last Saturday for a week. It is the short break that all school-going kids have been waiting for, especially my little cousins. Those little devils...

My aunt was planning to bring them for an outdoor outing and i was invited along, partly because i could become their nanny. -_-

I suggested Malaysia Agriculture Park in Shah Alam, where they could do some picnics, cycling, jungle trekking, pony riding and etc. But a check on the internet shows that they are closed on Monday. Why do most of the places closed on this particular day? Why not Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday? *sigh* There is no point making a fuss now.

In the end, we went to KLCC, although we had so much wanted to avoid going to shopping complexes. Did i ever mention that 2 of my cousins are uncontrollable at times? It was really a big headache trying to stop them from running around, fearing that they will knock someone else or something on the shelves. It was indeed a tough job. Dont be surprised if you saw us shouting frantically sometimes, it is perfectly normal in that kind of circumstances.

We went for the movie Nanny McPhee, after numerous pleads from the kids. No, their intention was not this movie, much to their amaze. They were asking for Underworld : Evolution, which is graded 18SG. My aunt has always had her own ways to tame her children. They were not even allowed to let out a soft squeek. Haha..

From what i know, the show is particularly made for the younger audience. It was about how the 7 exceedingly ill-behaved children were tamed by a magical nanny called Nanny McPhee. It was the perfect thing to show to these little devils we had in our family. To behave! *ngek*ngek*ngek*

But dont get me wrong. Despite all the naughty things that they have done, i still love them as much as i could imagine. Kids are still kids.

Bejeweled

Games can be seriously addictive! Im not kidding at all.

Lately, some of my colleagues in the office had gone crazy. Not insane as in doing stupid stuff, having mental problem or committing crime, of cos.

It's the game. The infectious game which has been spreading slowly and causes us to lose sleep, getting headaches and even exposing our health to some kinda possible nerves' illness, as a result of clicking the mouse repeatedly, non-stop...

I was challenged by one of them last week. In order to save my pride, i agreed to play along. It was then on the 2nd game, i overtook his score which made him at the bottom of the list. I immediately msn him and proudly teasing him with my success.

"hey, i overtook u dy. only the second game!"
"what? mou tin lei ah!"
"yes, u heard me rite" *beaming with pride*
"i dont understand. how come u guys can play so well"
"i guess practise makes perfect"

Then he got provoked and played continuosly and more determine than ever before. Finally, he improved and kicked me down the list again. Cool, congratulations on your progress!

"sorry ya. im at 31K now. haha.."
"nvm, i will challenge u and take u down!"
"if u can ever reach 30K first lar. then only u let me know."
"cis, action betul"

Today he came in to work only after lunch. A short chat with my other colleague in the morning and i found out that he was overtook by her, this time around. Haha, i wonder if he was too depressed and played till wee hours to regain his position in the scoreboard again. And that explained why he couldnt wake up on time for work. ^_^

He once said that he might take MC for 3 days to play the game and improve his score, if he was at the bottom of the list again. That was, of cos, only a joke we all shared and laughed about.

Any idea who is this person? :P

The all new Honda Civic 2006

Finally the new Honda Civic launches today, nationwide.

Guess what, my bro already booked one in Labuan. Darn that lucky dude! He is not even satisfied with his current Vios when I am still driving a 4 years old Proton Iswara here. -_-

Cant blame him much. The Civic is way much better in terms of quality and outlook if compared to Vios. And of cos the most important thing, the car there is so much cheaper than in Peninsular, duty free man.

Imagine the difference.

Peninsular
- RM 117K (1.8S)
- RM 131K (2.0S)

Labuan
- RM 74++K (1.8S)
- RM 78++K (2.0S)

This is so UNFAIR!

But being the goody sister I am, I went to help him check out the car during lunchtime cos the car is not yet available in the showroom in Labuan. I like the Bluish Silver Metallic colour. Gonna ask him to get that one, albeit the only chance I will be able to sit and drive the car is like once a year. Dont care dy! :P

Yea. HONDA, The Power of Dreams.

Clouseau, oh Clouseau..

Hehe..

Haha..

Muahaha..

Bwahaha..

It was hilarious! I wasnt making this up. I would have rolled down on the floor in the cinema if i could. Steve Martin was simply marvellous.

Before the movie, one of them asked me if it was a movie with animated cartoons, u know, like the movie Space Jam starring Looney Tunes characters together with the NBA basketball player... what was his name again?

Right. Michael Jordan.

But no. No cartoons, no bugs bunny, no PINK PANTHER! It was only a Pink Panther ring which causes all the fuss. Beyonce Knowles once again showed her sexy side, and giving a performance of her powerful voice. But i think she is a better singer than an actress.

Inspector Jacques Clouseau on the other hand, was superb. Steve did a very good job on his humour skill, thus making me almost laughed my lungs out even from the beginning of the show! I bet he has been practising a lot on his French accent. ^_^

The "brilliant" Clouseau.

A simple word like a "hamburger", could come out from his mouth as

hamberder
humbuddur
ambedded
abbodor
hembeggger
emgodor
.....

O_o

Bwahaha

God gracious. My stomach is full of air now, as a result of laughing too much.

Office hour only..

I finally got myself the time to go to Berjaya Times Square today. My mom has been nagging me to help my bro to fix his Samsung E700A handphone. His screen screwed up, displaying nothing but a white screen whenever he flips open the phone. But after a while (like it needed to warm up), the colours come back again.

No wonder i heard so many complains from some of my frens who are using Samsung mobile phone. Is the reliability and functionality really that bad now? It used to be one of the top brand in the world.

When i stepped into the Samsung Mobile Plaza, the place is very empty. No customer or any visitor is in sight. I approached one of the sales person there and started explaining about my problem. But he stopped me immediately and said their service department (they call it a department, can u believe that?!) is only opened during office hours.

Huh??!!

My effort to come all the way here is wasted. No wonder the workers in that mobile plaza "pak wu ying" only lar. I think they should make it a day off on Sunday, since there is nothing much to provide. Sigh...

Btw, i just pumped petrol for my car. It now cost me RM68 for a full tank of my Iswara. 30 cents may not be so significant on your daily usage, but it is enough to kill me when it is added to the petrol price. -_-

Happy Birthday Pei Yee!

This is the first time you celebrate your birthday here. Hope u had a great time with us today. A year gone by, but it doesnt mean that u are growing older. Instead, we should put it as growing wiser! Agree?

Happy Birthday!

Here are some pictures taken during the small celebration @ Basil Thai Nudle Bar, Bangsar Village. The food there is pretty good. Prices are still affordable (more to the high end side), but if u cant endure spicy food, please beware of what u order. Avoid those marked with a little chilli or else u may end up bloating ur stomache with water.

The pictures of the food attracted us to go into the restaurant.

I, myself got no problem at all cos i just luv spicy food! ^_^

Psycho?

Previously, Jeff discovered there is a mysterious psycho in the office area. And i on the other hand, discovered a psycho while i was on my way to get my car in SS2 last Tuesday. O_o

I was walking at the lane between the rows of shops when i saw someone standing still next to a parked car. It did not bothers me at first, but as i was walking near him, i realised that his position was kinda weird. His backpack was placed neatly on the road while he was standing facing the wall with his legs stretched wide. And at that split seconds, i am sure i heard something and there was "water" dripping in between his legs. WTF! -__-"""

I rushed to my car and locked the door the moment i stepped in. How i know if he would or wouldnt come after me when he realised i saw what he was doing. I just couldnt take the risk. No way!

Guys and gals out there, please be extra careful when u go out at nite. There is no more safe neighbourhood nowadays.
