The perfect couple

This is the day when the lovebirds are united forever. A day where happiness and joyfulness are in the air. A day where they will start the journey of their life together. An important day for Wei Leng and his husband... their wedding.

Pei Yee, Tony and I went to her wedding ceremony in the morning at her brother's condo in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ukay Perdana. We have no problems getting there on time but we were kinda surprised because they were not many people in the condo. I have been to alot of weddings before, of my cousins, my frens, my colleagues, but all of them were jam packed with people. It was very noisy and hard to control. But Wei Leng's was the total opposite, she prefers low profile.

Me and Pei Yee became the only two impromptu "ji-muis" (sisters). We did not prepare anything at all because we never thought we would be the only frens there. The rest were all her immediate family members. But since both of us are very flexible and spontaneous, we made it thru. We thought of some simple games just for the sake of making the groom works harder to get to the bride.

Ji-muis: "Tell your wife that you love her in eight languages."
Groom: "I dont know so many languages....."
Ji-muis: "Then we wont be able to open the door for you.." *disappointed*
Groom: "okok, i love u, sarang he-yo, aishiteru, ngo-oi-nei, wo ai nie, etc..."
Ji-muis: "Great job, see u should try harder. Now sing her a love song!"
Groom: *sang a phrase of an old song with the help from the people that came with him*
Ji-muis: "U just barely passed. Now we have a few questions for you. Let's see if you can get them right. What is your wife's favourite colour?"
Groom: "Yellow!"
Ji-muis: "Wow, no hesitation at all. Good. How did you guys met?"
Groom: "At work."
Ji-muis: "Correct. Wei Leng should be very happy. Finally, here is an agreement of your top 10 house rules. Read them out loud and sign it."
Groom's frens: "Just sign it for now.. as long as u can get in, it doesnt matter anymore after that...."
Ji-muis and groom: "...."

That was how we fared at the games. Not very exciting, but there were just so much that we can do when we dont have any preparation at all, and we dont really know the groom and his frens (apparently were also his immediate family members only) and we were told that his husband has a very "thin face". Well, ok....

The bridesmaid, Pei Yee, me, Wei Leng and hubby.

So i finally able to get her pics and post it here. Previously i only have Jessica's bridal photo but dont have any of hers. I am being fair now :)

Again, wish you guys will have a happy and wonderful life together! You are very pretty that day, Wei Leng!

Happy Moon Cake Festival!

I think if i were somehow decided to leave my current company, i could easily get another job - as an event planner or organizer. Prolly wedding planner too, it is just for different occasions anyways, nothing much differ in terms of planning.

I have been busy today and also will be for the next couple of days, due to the big group of guests coming from US and Seremban for a strategic meeting to reduce cost. I was unofficially appointed as the "personal assistant" for the Purchasing Director to help him in getting all the lunches, dinners, morning and tea breaks sorted out. And i have to buy all the beverages and sundries too...

I ran up and down in the mall to look for the most suitable food menus, bakeries, cafes, etc. It is not easy serving a group of locals and westerners - need to take into consideration of their non-favourable food. How can we satisfy everyone's taste bud? That is really a challenge for me.

That aside, just now i had a BBQ party at my uncle's house to celebrate the Mid-Autumm Festival a.k.a. Moon Cake Festival. We dont really celebrate it every year, but the kids never had any BBQ before so we wanna let them have a feel for it. I tell u, the kids were crazy about the idea!

First batch of grilled food.

I reached home around 7pm and i saw my cousins were already grilling the chicken wings and sausages. They were very excited doing it for the first time. Haha, i can actually start eating without doing anything. But of cos, i feel kinda bad if i did that, so i went to the kitchen and cut the baguette to make some garlic bread (grilled on the BBQ pit).

I was kinda surprised when my aunts said they never do garlic bread before in a BBQ session. Well, i do that for all my BBQ party with my frens. It is as easy as A-B-C! And delicious too... it is a favourites for the nite (besides the chicken wings).

Here are some of the food we had.

Grilled Tom Yam prawns and squids.

Steamed ground nuts.

Corns for BBQ.

Grilled crabs! But not from Seremban, locally made :)

The raw crabs didn't look so nice..

Unsuccessful attempt..

OK, thats all folks.

p/s: i left this post on draft cos i couldnt update it earlier. So u may be wondering why this is appearing now..

Steammy session

It has been a while since i moved in to my new place but i never really invited my frens to come and have a lil fun together. So yesterday, i decided to ask my close pals over for a small gathering in my condo. It wasnt anything fancy, but we had a great time chatting and teasing each other (again).

The new steamboat cooker i bought for this event.

Mooncake festival is coming soon, so it was a good gathering to celebrate the event too, in advance. As usual, we still have some leftover shrimps, squids, beancurds and veges. That will be my dinner for tonite. -__-

Before i forget, thanks for the housewarming gift!

p/s: did u think of a different post when u saw my title? dont be naughty..

Congrats Jessica & Raymond!

There are two weddings fall on the same day - 29th of September.
The dinners are to be held in hotels close to each other.

But I have only one body.
So there will be only one attendance.

Decision made - i am going to Jessica's wedding. She is my team mate, and she has told me about her wedding a year ago. So it is the right and obvious decision to attend hers.

As for the other bride, Wei Leng, i hope she will understand. In fact, there are more people from the company who will go to hers. It will not matter much without me in the dinner.

Anyways, i wish both the couples "Happily Ever After!"

This post is for you two, Jessica & Wei Leng.

New tenant..

I've been under attack! None other but by my own magic bean..

Check out its massive leaves!

If you notice carefully, you will see how it is branching out towards me - attacking me while i was working. -__-

It is amazing how big it can grow from a small little seed. I am happy that i am able to keep it alive for so long, proved that i am still an "ok" gardener. My colleagues now threaten to take the leaves and eat them with bread. Or make a salad out of it as breakfast. See how cruel they are!!!
I will protect you! :)

MIX FM Ford Escape Road Runners

This is the second time i bumped into Mix Fm Ford Escape Roadrunners, unexpectedly. The first time was prolly 2 years back at the entrance of Low Yat Plaza while i was actually only passing by..

It is really funny come to think about it. When i was listening closely to the radio and hoping that i could get to know their locations to catch them in action, they never decide to drop by close enuff to where i was. But when i wasnt expecting them, they showed up in front of me like a genie in a bottle. Life is just full of surprises.

So I was on my way to my car @ 1Utama just now, when i saw a crowd of people shouting and laughing. Out of curiosity, i walked forward and saw the Mix Fm crew members were giving out free goodies. Wow, how lucky! I should have gotten a lottery.

MIX FM Ford Escape vehicle.

The crowd was listening carefully for the questions.

I didnt win the big prize which consists of a nite stay @ Seri Carcosa Hotel, Malacca cos i wasnt smart enuff and lost to a 11 years old kid. What a shame.. >_<

Perhaps next time. Hope to see u guys again soon!

What is your style? Here is Mystyle...

Mystyle seems to be pretty popular out of late. For those of you who are still in the dark, it is your mobile-vouchers on-demand website. It is kinds cool cos all you need to do is just send a text indicating which voucher that you want and they will send you the voucher thru SMS on your phone, aint that easy?

There are quite a number of offers that you can enjoy, for eg. Nando's Chicken, Giordano, Golden Screen Cinema, Delifrance, Leonard Drake and much much more. I have never try it personally but i heard some of my friends did, and it works (not a scam, which is a great relief).

How MyStyle works?
Simple! Only 3 quick steps.

Step 1 - Type [vouchertype][space][merchant] eg. "my111 giordano"
Step 2 - Send to 33365.
Step 3 - Show redeemed voucher to merchant counters. Enjoy discounts and benefits.

Birthdays for the September Babies

As we move towards the end of the year, it indirectly means there are more projects being planned to be completed, more people planning for vacations to clear their annual leaves, more actions being taken to make sure the company hits the revenue goal for the year (such as increasing capacity or cutting cost), more people getting married (apparently they cant wait to give ang pow during Chinese New Year - haha) and also of cos, more birthday celebrations - somehow, more people were born at the 2nd half of the year..

So yesterday, we had a celebration at TGIF, 1U for all the September babies - Kok Beng, Min Min, Siew Kim and Gim Wah. It was an honor to have Kim and Hong (guests from PHX) to be with us. Happy Birthday guys and girls!

Some of the food we ate.

We initially planned for a 15 person reservation and had the TGIF people set the table for us, but there were almost 30 of us turned up. Luckily they had ample of space to accommodate all of us in a long table (unlike Chilis, they splitted us to several small tables). Crazy and "indecent" acts were displayed every now and then, haha, we hope they didnt scare away the visitors. I am sure u dont see these in US that often, cos they might get into a lawsuit - u know how anything can be taken into the court in US...

It was a great celebration and i am sure we will do this again soon.

Ooo, baby boy!

Ming Jade and Wang are officially mom and dad for their baby boy, who was born last nite around 9:30pm. Both mother and baby are doing fine.

CONGRATULATIONS! I need to go and visit her and my godson soon! ^_^

Izzi @ Damansara Uptown

We were all excited since morning. Not because of the presentations that was given by a guest from PHX, but due to the much anticipated lunch @ Izzi, Damansara Uptown. Izzi UPTOWN 75% Crazy Deals - HSBC (Visa/ Master)!

Look at the crowd..

Despite all the hype, the food served was just so-so. I think the pasta that we had tasted rather plain.. prolly cos they were so many customers showed up and they had to hurry up that they must have forgotten to put some spices or salt in it. >_<

Others said it was good before this, and that could be reason why they do so well in a lot of countries. Maybe i need to give them a second chance..

Our bill came up to more than RM122, but we ended up only paying around RM30. Not bad eh?

Never eat in PWTC..

Yesterday was the last day of the Matta Fair 2007 @ the Putra World Trade Centre. It was crowded as usual, every year. This proves how much Malaysian loves to travel.. but just not within Malaysia itself :(

There were lots of booth with various travel agency all around Malaysia, some of them i have not even heard before. But since the infamous Excellence Holidays bankrupcy incident not too long ago, everyone was very careful in enrolling a travel package. Obviously no one will want their hard earned money disappear together with the travel agency's owner/director.

After walking and scouting around for more than 3 hours, my cousin brother was screaming in hunger cos he had not eaten any breakfast yet. So i brought him to the nearest PWTC cafe, thinking that they will serve some decent food. I am not surprised that a plate of plain fried rice cost RM6, well, that is how they try to earn big bucks. U have nowhere else to eat inside the hall and they knew that.

But if they are going to charge us so much for the plate of fried rice, they should really ensure that it is at least edible if not delicious... no, it was as hard as a rock. My cousin had two spoonful, and the food was left there on the table, untouch. I was being a smarty as usual - had a heavy breakfast before going there and didnt fall for the trap! :)

So for you guys who plan to go to PWTC for any sort of show/fair/exhibition, remember my advice. Should eat before or after the exhibition... please pity your stomach. It is crying in vain..

Celebration lunch @ Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant

It is the time for another celebration again. Come to think of it, we have been having alot of celebrations this year. Dont be jealous, that just shows how many projects that we have been doing and how much sleep that we have lost...

We were supposed to plan for a luncheon in Lai Po Heen Chinese Restaurant @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel. We heard it is very good. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, we settled for Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant @ One World Hotel.

I walked past this restaurant everyday on my way to the office from the parking area. They offer a very nice ambience for the customer and honestly, this is the first time i had chinese cuisines served in a french way. All their food are amazingly decorated in an individual plate. So everyone has the same set for every dish (no need to fight for food!).

I will let the pictures do the talking. If you look carefully, the first dish was an appetizer - a tablespoon of 4 "crumbs" of sweet and sour taufu.. -__-""

Menu

Five Happiness Hot and Cold Combination
Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Crab Meat, Shredded Chicken and Enoki Mushrooms
Barbecued Suckling Pig (served with buns)
Oven-Baked Tiger Prawns with Homemade Butter Sauce
Braised Sliced Abalone with Flower Mushrooms and Fish Maw
Steamed Pomfret with Superior Soya Sauce
Fried Rice with Asparagus and Spicy Scallop Sauce
Chilled Creamy Avocado Dessert

- priced at RM1000 per table of 10 persons

Even tho the portion served to us werent alot, but we were all getting full halfway thru the lunch. One of the reasons was because the dishes came out very slow. Prolly there was only one master chef in the restaurant and he had to decorate each and every dish himself. (please take note that this assumption was purely based on our own opinion and has nothing to do with the restaurant).

All in all, the food was good. U just have to bear with the slowness a lil bit, thats all. Remember, u always have to be patience when it comes to nice stuff..

A Lesson For Every Salaried Employee!

A butcher watching over his shop is really surprised when he sees a dog coming inside the shop. He shoos him away. But later, the dog is back again.

So, he goes over to the dog and notices it has a note in its mouth. He takes the note and it reads "Can I have 12 sausages and a leg of lamb, please".

The dog has money in its mouth, as well. The butcher looks inside and, lo and behold, there is a ten dollar note there. So he takes the money and puts the sausages and lamb in a bag, placing it in the dog's mouth.

The butcher is so impressed, and since it's about closing time, he decides to shut the shop and follow the dog. So off he goes. The dog is walking down the street, when it comes to a level crossing the dog puts down the bag, jumps up and presses the button. Then it waits patiently, bag in mouth, for the lights to turn. They do, and it walks across the road, with the butcher following him all the way. The dog then comes to a bus stop, and starts looking at the timetable.

The butcher is in awe as the dog stops a bus by pulling its left leg up and gets in it. The butcher follows the dog into the bus. The dog then shows a ticket which is tied to its belt to the bus conductor.

The butcher is nearly fainting at this sight, so are the other passengers in the bus. The dog then sits near the driver's seat looking outside waiting for the bus stop to come. As soon as the stop is in sight, the dog stands and wags its tail to inform the conductor. Then, without waiting for the bus to stop completely, it jumps out of the bus and runs to a house very close to the stop.

It opens the big iron gate and rushes inside towards the door. As it approaches the wooden door, the dog suddenly changes its mind and heads towards the garden. It goes to the window, and beats its head against it several times, walks back, jumps off, and waits at the door.

The butcher watches as a big guy opens the door, and starts abusing the dog, kicking him and punching him, and swearing at him. The butcher surprised with this, runs up, and stops the guy.

"What in heaven's name are you doing? The dog is a genius. He could be on TV, for the life of me!" to which the guy responds: "You call this clever? This is the second time this week that this stupid dog's forgotten his key."

Moral of the story ......

Someone killed her...

It was a birthday gift from my frens - it is called a Magic Bean because the bean has printed message on it. And when it grows bigger, you can see the words clearly (tho i already can see it clearly on the bean's shell before i even do anything). I have been showering it with lotsa love (and water of cos) for the past weeks. I saw the living gift grows each day, bit by bit.

BUT TODAY, it was paralysed due to one unfortunate mishap. One side of the bean fell off and i knew who was the culprit who caused this. Poor Little Beany, I hope you will keep on growing even with your current condition. I will always support you!

p/s: Eric, u owe me a new magic bean. (oopps, did i just mention who did this?) :P
