Celebration lunch @ Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant

It is the time for another celebration again. Come to think of it, we have been having alot of celebrations this year. Dont be jealous, that just shows how many projects that we have been doing and how much sleep that we have lost...

We were supposed to plan for a luncheon in Lai Po Heen Chinese Restaurant @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel. We heard it is very good. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, we settled for Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant @ One World Hotel.

I walked past this restaurant everyday on my way to the office from the parking area. They offer a very nice ambience for the customer and honestly, this is the first time i had chinese cuisines served in a french way. All their food are amazingly decorated in an individual plate. So everyone has the same set for every dish (no need to fight for food!).

I will let the pictures do the talking. If you look carefully, the first dish was an appetizer - a tablespoon of 4 "crumbs" of sweet and sour taufu.. -__-""

Menu

Five Happiness Hot and Cold Combination
Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Crab Meat, Shredded Chicken and Enoki Mushrooms
Barbecued Suckling Pig (served with buns)
Oven-Baked Tiger Prawns with Homemade Butter Sauce
Braised Sliced Abalone with Flower Mushrooms and Fish Maw
Steamed Pomfret with Superior Soya Sauce
Fried Rice with Asparagus and Spicy Scallop Sauce
Chilled Creamy Avocado Dessert

- priced at RM1000 per table of 10 persons

Even tho the portion served to us werent alot, but we were all getting full halfway thru the lunch. One of the reasons was because the dishes came out very slow. Prolly there was only one master chef in the restaurant and he had to decorate each and every dish himself. (please take note that this assumption was purely based on our own opinion and has nothing to do with the restaurant).

All in all, the food was good. U just have to bear with the slowness a lil bit, thats all. Remember, u always have to be patience when it comes to nice stuff..

The chef must be quite an artist. Those dishes look superb.

Good going to you and your teammates. Maybe they are slow so you can catch up on your sleep by having time for a nap between dishes. ;)
