Rakuzen @ Hartamas Shopping Centre
I was helping my fren to check out some japanese restaurants in Google, when i so happened to come across this name - Rakuzen. I seriously have no idea at all what is so special about this particular restaurant, but it seems to have a very good review.
So today during lunch, we went to check the place out, the one which is located in the Hartamas Shopping Centre.
The entrance itself looks grand. And it has a very very nice environment, best of all the Japanese restaurant that i have been so far. Each table is nicely decorated and we were given a table of 6 in a closed room, sat on a cushion, just like what u saw in the japs drama. I really felt like im physically in Japan. Are all the restaurants in Japan like that, Phei Shan? Or Japanese dont really eat outside, but make their own sushi instead most of the time?
Once seated, we were already excited and were talking like a bunch of kids from school. Ran through the menu and hurriedly ordered our food cos we were starving dy. I ordered the Higawari Zen, which is only limited to 20 sets per day.

Min Min tried the Unajyu Zen, check out the amount and size of the delicious unagi in the pic below. It looked, smelled and tasted great! Jeff, u are so gonna love this!!! :)

The Chicken Teriyaki Zen was one of the cheapest set lunch available. But u will not be disappointed at all.

But the award goes to the Sakura Chirashi Don! It has a lot of variety of sashimi, but if u are someone who does not appreciate raw food, i dont think u will enjoy this. I am not a raw food fans as well (i only eat the salmon and prawn), so i guess i am gonna give it a pass. But seeing Miki's expression while savouring the delicious food, u can sense the satisfaction thru her eyes. =P~
Close up shot for Sakura Chirashi Don ~ for the sashimi lovers, consists of hotate (oysters), salmon, maguro(tuna), ebi (prawn), ebiko(fish roe), tamago (omelette), octopus, cuttlefish, seabass, sliced mushrooms and sliced cucumbers.
Each set comes with a cup of chawan mushi, miso soup, a plate of fruits and cooked brinjal. I think i am gonna come here again next time and try the unagi set. Probably get someone to give me a treat :)
Give it a try and see what u think as compared to other Japs restaurant. Your opinion would be interesting.

because of this, i need to tapao my food today for lunch. less than rm2 :)
The unagi set u said was the cheapest, then the sashimi set must have cost a bomb! I just dunno how to appreciate expensive stuff like u la... keke. can't really tell the freshness of raw fish, they just taste like uncooked meat.
Hai jane, haha it is a good try to have japanese meal. Not all restaurant here is formed or decorated as what you mentioned. but it is not difficult to get such traditional japanese style restaurant, especially when you visit Izakaya, place for salary-man enjoy their favourite beer or sake with some japanese snacks, teriyaki or yakiniku. Have more fun then.
ellewy: well, i dont really know how to appreciate raw food either. i still prefer cooked fish :)
