Discover the Pulau Ketam!

It was supposed to be a good long sleep like a normal weekend, but instead, i was up at 6.30am. As i were walking to the bathroom to brush my teeth, i couldnt even open my eyes bigger than a 20 cents coin. My fren picked me up around 7am on a "sleepy" Sunday morning, and we headed to Klang in 2 cars to have Bak Kut Teh for breakfast. Frankly speaking, this is the 1st time i have such a heavy and fattening meal for breakfast. How could anyone eat this when the stomach barely functioning 100%?? These Klang folks are really weird.

*slurps*

One of my frens brought us to this one stall which was claimed by him as "nice". Nah, I dont think so. The Bak Kut Teh's soup was not up to par, too tawar ler. And they gave us a lot of fat meat. *yukks* Me, who dislikes fat fat meat, was left with nothing much to eat other than the mushrooms, veges and "yao cha kwai". I still prefer the other shops where my ex-cosmates brought me when we were on our way to visit the fireflies in Kuala Selangor a few months back.

See how FAT is that?? *pui*pui*

After resting for a while, in order to avoid anyone feeling to puke in the speed boat, we proceed to the jetty. Here we come Pulau Ketam! We surely made a lot of noises in the boat, hopefully no one was annoyed by us. :P

It was showing Child Play 4 (a super horror movie, about some killer dolls) in the boat. But we couldnt finish the whole movie as it only took us 45 mins to reach the destination. -_-

Welcome to Pulau Ketam!

Pulau Ketam reminds me of Kukup, Johor. They are both fishing villages with lotsa houses built on water by using big wooden branches or sticks or whatever u wanna call them. Basically, we walked, walked and walked; snaped, snaped and snaped; looked, looked and looked; and then start the whole cycle again. It was damn hot u know. The sun was killing us all! Luckily i was armed with hat, sunglasses and an umbrella. It's very obvious that we are from the city! *kekeke*

Fisherman's boats.

I realized there are a lot of Initial-D wannabe on the island! Although given only a bicycle, it's powered by a small engine, hence, there's no need to paddle like old times. And for ur information, their road is very narrow and bumpy, but they can still make a cornering with 100km/h (okay, mebbe i was just exaggerating, but they are really fast). Whenever we heard any bikes coming, we threw ourselves on the left and right, making way for these F1 racers. Dangerous!

After more than an hour of walking, we decided to sit down and rest in a restaurant, have some chilled drinks and local food. Pulau Ketam is famous for its la-la omelette, i was told. *massage feet*

The famous la-la omelette... *yummy*

Loo, Ji Ric, Jane, Sok Yee, Wen Hui, Chee Yee and Lai Yeen @ the Pulau Ketam jetty.
Poor Kai Yan is not in the pic cos he's the camera man of the day.

The trip ended with a round of sight seeing at Port Klang. Finally, we went to Halo Cafe in South City Plaza to celebrate Kai Yan's birthday, which falls on 3rd of Aug (coming Wed). Actually, that is the purpose of the whole trip since morning. But somehow, we can only cut the cake in a more appropriate place like this mar, rite? :P

Guess what, i've been out for more than 12 hours. *hands waving* Kai Yan, u better be grateful for what we have done for your birthday. We never really did anything like this before. ;)

I wanted to post his pic taken in the cafe with his cake, but i havent get the photos from Ji Ric's camera. His PC broke down. *duh* Will do that as soon as i got them. :)

Anyway, Happy Birthday 2 u again and wish that all ur dreams will come true soon! ^_^

Happy System Administrator Appreciation Day!

System Administrator Appreciation Day ~

"A special day, once a year, to acknowledge the worthiness and appreciation of the person occupying the role, especially as it is often this person who really keeps the wheels of your company turning."

Do u know that this special day is celebrated annually on the last Friday of July? Well, if u dont, no fret my fren. I just got to know about it too, today. Anyway, it is still not too late to start appreciating what ur company's sysadmin has done and mebbe (if u want to, i cant force u, can i?) start planning for next year's celebration (cos i think by the time u see this, it is already over).

Thank you to the DBAs, Goh & Wei Leng and also the Network Admin guy, uncle AJ.

Thanks to Wei Siang too for this great information! :)

I was "fong fei kei"-ed! *_*

U wouldnt wanna believe this, but i have yet graduated from my swimming lesson! -_-

I was actually so hoping to end the class once and for all today, but somehow, it is fated. *sigh* I knew it. I sensed something was going to happen when i was driving to the club after work. Was feeling all nervous and kept on checking the sky. It was clear and bright, therefore there is no way its gonna rain. But i still felt panic inside, dunno why, this isnt the 1st time i am going for a swimming lesson. It has been more than a year...

Reached the pool, something must be very wrong. There is NO ONE there except for my cousins and aunt, who are taking the lessons with me. Maybe i was being too sensitive, so i just put on my swimming cap and goggle. While i was applying sun block to my already tanned skin, there was still no sign of the instructor. This is not right, my aunt went to check the parking area, and his bike was not there!!! *fingers trembling* She called the instructor.

*Damn* He couldnt make it on time and he forgot to call us. WTF! How could he... *sob*sob*

And since im all set for swimming, so we ended up having practices ourselves. Guessed my six sense is very accurate. They all say that.. and it is proven.

I told me mom about it.

"ma, guess what happened today. im sure u will not get it right, cos u wouldnt believe this would have happened"
"good or bad?"
"erm, can consider bad, but not so bad lar"
"ur team mates all resigned and only left u alone with the work now?"
"what?!" *bwahahhahaha*

She is really very imaginative.

So i still have one more lesson to go.... one more... one more....

Greetings from Labuan

Touchdown @ Labuan Airport on Fri evening and we were greeted by a heavy rain. Bro picked us up and immediately brought us to the duty free shop for some shopping spree. Liquor, chocs, beer... hmm... hmmm.. With our mindset fixed that the stuff there is super cheap without duty tax, mom spent a few hundred bucks in that shop without realizing it. Yes, mummy, it is cheap, but it's not free!

Labuan is a rather small place, with just one main road connecting every other area in the island. A lot of nice cars cos they are cheap there, but i guess the Labuan folks prefer 4 wheel drive more, due to their sandy and hilly environment.

We went to my bro's workplace @ Kolej Matrikulasi Labuan and Pantai Rekreasi Pancur Hitam the next morning. The beach is really beautiful...

Pantai Rekreasi Pancur Hitam.

The lecturer brother and the sleepy Jane :(

Our flight to Kota Kinabalu is very short, 30 mins is all we need. We checked into Hotel Deleeton (no star rating), right opposite Centre Point Sabah. According to some reliable sources, it is the most happening place in the city, which i totally agree. -_-

On our way to KK.

Sunset @ Tanjung Aru Beach.

We wanted to have some seafood that night @ a restaurant recommended by my bro's fren, but we didnt manage to find the place. So we settled for a Malay restaurant @ 2nd beach, Tanjung Aru. Mom was super worried that we couldnt get a cab back to our hotel.. but when bro called the taxi driver and he fetched us back, safely, mom was relieved. Haha.. mama always like that.

Coincidence do happens sometimes. See the color of my top and my bro's tshirt? *wink*

Our stay in KK was quite tiring cos we had no car, unlike in Labuan where we can go around with bro's punya Vios. So we basically need to go anywhere on foot. Been to the Centre Point Sabah (obviously!), Phillipine's village (Pasar Kraftangan), Pasar Ikan Masin, Tugu Peringatan Malaysia, Gaya Street (very famous, similar to Petaling Street in KL), KK Plaza, Wisma Merdeka and Plaza Wawasan. We actually went to all the 4 shopping complexes in KK in a day! Never done anything like that when i was in KL. I guess that shows how much we can shop in KL compared to KK. ^_^

i seriously dunno what is on top of my head.

Me and my mom.

Due to the disappointment that we didnt get to eat any proper seafood the night before @ Tanjung Aru, i lead the family to have a super duper delicious seafood lunch @ Port View Seafood Village, before we set off to the airport. And how my mom and bro thank me for that... *drools*

Yes, it is cheap.

Reached Labuan around dinner time, and we went to search for food again. This time we went to this restaurant in the Pulau Labuan Hotel for some nice not-so-cheap Chinese cusine. Mom freaked out when we joked about having another malay food again. She is a bit picky on the food that can go into her mouth. *kekeke*

There is this dessert which is only available in Labuan, or so i was told. Coconut pudding served in a cleaned and dried coconut shell. It was special, but i think the puding was rather rough. Maybe they could improve on that a bit. :P

Coconut Pudding.

The last day on the island was spent on looking for liquor and chocs (again) in the one and only shopping complex in Labuan, called Financial Square. Im really amazed how my brother can stay there for so long. I guess he has really grown up :)

The last stop, Marine Museum.

I have been eating alot these 4 days. Hmm, no wonder he keeps on complaining that there is nothing much to do in Labuan except eating, thus contributing to the fact that he has grew wider. Muahaha... :D

The most valuable experience gained during this trip;
i took flight everyday, which is not what a sane human would wanna do.
1st day ~ KL to Labuan
2nd day ~ Labuan to KK
3rd day ~ KK back to Labuan
4th day ~ Labuan back to KL

*dead tired*

Don't u try to dare me ;)

Im leaving to the airport in 30 minutes.

It happened again. I tot i wanna skip badminton last nite and go home early to pack my stuff for this Labuan trip, ended up working late till 9++pm. Im never gonna plan to leave early next time. :(

My project schedule has been strangling me eversince my team mates left to embark a better future outside. I was only told about the development needed to be done 2 weeks before the scheduled integration testing. This is really killing me! *arrrgghh*

I was thinking of bringing my latop over to my bro's place and continue working on, but my coll scolded me for being such a crazy fella.

"u siao ar? u are going there for a vacation and not work!"

Yeah, mebbe u are right. Gonna wait till i come back.

Will update once i have the time again. Meanwhile, just bear with the latest accessory in the kitchen above.

Ciao!

Jalan-jalan cari makan to Seremban!

Our "Jalan-jalan cari makan" frenzy is attacking again. This time around, the destination to go is Seremban.

Cold and drizzling..

It was raining that night but that did not deter us from continuing with the plan. No stars in the sky, very dark nite, too bad. Since im the only one who knows the direction, we slowed down a bit so the other car can trail us slowly from behind.

Food Street Restaurant.

By the time we reached Food Street Restaurant in Seremban, Kar Weng already screaming in hunger. The food serving was miraculously SLOW so we got nothing better to do than taking lots and lotsa pics, besides being threatened by my merciless frens ...

"why the food is not here yet? im starving!!!" *hitting the fork and spoon on the table while chanting 'we want food'*
"eh, i dunno ler. i already ask the lady to be faster. im not the head chef here."
"if the seremban grilled crab is not nice, then u gonna pay for the meal!"
"why? its not my fault. my job is to bring u guys here only muh..."
"cos we waited for so long."
*waaa*

When the food finally arrived, we nearly became uncontrolable. No table etiquette or whatsoever, we just want food! The plates were emptied in just 15 mins. *burp*

Marmite grilled crab *slurps*

The Seremban Grilled Crab was the last dish served, and seriously, it was worth the wait! The taste of the burning hot crabs are to DIE for! Super deeeeee-leeeeeee-ciousssss! :D

After the long dinner, we took a stroll down the Seremban town.

Seremban town.

On our way back, something popped into our mind. We never been to KLIA during wee hours before, so everyone agreed and so the airport we go...

*im leaving on a jet plane*

Night view of the airport

It was very quiet and empty, unlike what i normally see when i send my bro to Labuan. There are a lot of people sleeping on the couch, with every single pattern that u can or can't think of! What can they do?? Poor thing.

And what can we do in the middle of the nite in KLIA? Nothing but charged into McDonald's and took more than 30 photos of every corner in it. Let me just give u some preview of them.

McDonald's

Went home around 3am. I dozed off in the car on the way back. Cannot believe i did it again!

p/s : Pictures curtesy of Ji Ric. Thanks a lot!

Super huge farewell in the history!

Im so pissed off. I blogged and completed everything just now, and somehow the server got screwed up and all my post gone! WTF! Now i have to start all over again, i feel like kicking some a** now. *sigh* Here goes again...

*****

Have u guys ever had a farewell for 4 persons, same venue, same day and same time? After 2 years + of working experience, this is indeed my first encounter in such a mega farewell.

I organized a farewell lunch for Beng Tatt (my now ex-team lead), Joon Yee, Sau Pin and Goh in Monte's Restaurant @ Bangsar Shopping Complex today. Almost all of us in the office turned up, thus making the event so successful. Thank u guys for being so supportive.

Erm, i guess half of their light bulbs are not working.

Monte's was voted as the Best Restaurant of the year 2004 by the Malaysia Tatlers mag, but my colls doubt about it. After trying the food myself, i had the same doubt too. The food is so so only, nothing special nor super nice. And the service is super duper slow! O_o Our request to refill the sky juice were never fulfilled. *cut points*

But they will always have a loyal supporter from my company. Chen loves the executive set lunch and the free buns. This unusual guy can really eat a lot, cos he needs all the calories for his training every weekend. If u havent know, he is a runner with a lot of trophies chucked under his chin. Perak lar, Penang lar, Johor lar, Melaka lar, everywhere :)

There u go, the all round eater, Chen (in orange).

Okay, now here comes the celebrities of the day.

Joon Yee, acting like a prisoner. *hehee*

Sau Pin and Goh.

Beng Tatt on the right. Jeff squeezing into the pic..

My new team lead, Siva (on the far left).

It was raining the whole day. And my one and only one swimming session was being postponed infinitely. Why they never let me graduate one??!! *grrrrr*

Ooops, it is getting late now.. and i got work tomoro, or should i say today cos its already 12.47am. Hopefully i will be able to wake up on time. My boss is very serious about tardiness lately *yikes*shutdown immediately*

Happy Birthday Cheng Huat & Soon Kuan!

Birthdays again. And there are more coming....

Birthday boys, Soon Kuan and Cheng Huat.

Me and my frens celebrated our fella ex-classmates' birthday last Sun @ Pizza Uno Restaurant near Ampang Point. Yeah, i know its a bit late to post 'em up now, but pls forgive me. I have been having a tight schedule at work this week. A lot of knowledge transfer going on while i am in the mid of a project supposed to be ready for unit testing.. err.. next week? And all the trainings need to be completed asap too, cos my team mates are leaving soon.. pretty soon. How soon? Well, one leaving on Sat, another next week and another early next month? *gulp*

Okay, back to the topic. I've been to Pizza Uno before, and if memory doesnt fail me, it was pretty good. But Sun's meal was quite disappointing. Has the old chef left? I wouldnt know. *chanting "brin him back, brin him back"*

*drools*

Soon Kuan with the gf, Ah Teng

The celebration was kinda awkward initially, cos Sun wasnt the birthday of either one of them. CH's on 7th meanwhile SK's on 18th. But we just kinda lump them together as its quite hard to get everyone gathered. Sincerity is all that matters! *wink*

i have no idea why this pic was taken (without my knowledge some more). Damn artistic.

Alien in disguise..

The impact from last Sunday's "pain"ball is taking over my whole body. The alien in me has won the silence battle, and all that is left with me are billions and billions of dead cells.

I have to wear a long skirt and cardigan to work today, and some of my colls were quite surprised, thinking that im changing into a super feminine image :O

But little did they know that i am trying to hide something... something that no one should see. The 6 dead area whereby each owns the size of two 20 cents coin. And trying to rub them with the *magic oil*, yea, mebbe its just some normal pain relieving oil, the situation got worst! No more 20, it's two 50 cents coin now. *shit and no shit* And my fren even tried to make fun of me. Where is the mercy??

"u r goin for the swimming lesson this fri?"
"yeah, it will be my last lesson. im graduating... finally" *yippie*
"i dont think its a good idea"
"why?"
"people will think that u got abused by ur bf or something! hahhahaha!!"
-_-

I am so dead this time.. it will take weeks before they can be fully recovered. Im still thinking whether i wanna play badminton tomoro, knowing that i would be wearing shorts which will expose my alien looking leg. *shikes* Where is my long aerobic pants? Where is it? Im so not going to the badminton court without it. *throw all the clothes out from the wardrobe*

Eason Chan ~ U87

HK singer Eason Chan is here in Malaysia to promote his new album titled U87. My fren got 6 tics to watch him @ Bukit Jalil on Sat nite, so obviously, i tag along. Kekeke...

Lotsa fans packed in the center.

It was drizzling when we reached there but that does not affect the loyalty of his fans. They were well prepared with umbrellas and caps. And as if the sky was touched by their determination, the moonlite cut thru the stubborn dark clouds and brought a big smile to those mui mui chai that were present that nite.

Eason Chan, singing with emotions.

He is a crazy and outgoing chap. The crew surprised him with a big "U87" birthday cake for his birthday that nite. He almost cried, ohh... that poor thing.

Autograph session begins.

Keep up the good work.

Hit 'em with the paintball!

*di di di*di di di* ~ *alarm ringing*

Today is the battle day. It was still raining. Im so reluctant to wake up early on a Sunday morning. Need to be @ Bukit Jalil by 8.30am. Fortunately the rain stops, else the game would not be able to go on.

It took me less than 30 minutes to reach the XtionPaintball park. No free parking dude, RM1.50 per entry.

Come, let's go for a war!

Base camp for all the gamers.

I was glad that 13 of us managed to turn up for the event. Thanks to the organizer, Su Ann! She was so worried the previous nite that nobody could come. Everything worth it in the end, darling.

Protective vest for the females. But guys also wear.. hehe.. scared wor!

Never remove ur mask in the battle. Ur life would be in danger!

Here is where we decide who will live and die! *ngek*ngek*ngek*

The games lasted around 2 hours. And we (Team B) won! 5 - 1. Dont play play man. Save ur a** before we set our eyes on u! I had a few bruises on my leg and arm. It's so painful at the moment the bullets exploded on my body. *Aaaaaahhhhhhh* Surprisingly, i only got hit on the arm and leg, none on my vest. What lar... protect ape ni?? -_-

Everyone looked so tired after the games. Food.. food!

*splat*splat* Hmm, what's with the sexy lady at the bottom? ;)

If u guys are interested, here's some useful infos. U can contact them for further clarifications and discounts. We had the field charges and chest protection vest waived! Heee :P

Great game! Worth to try, at least once..

Starry Starry Nite

This day has come. After 2 years, finally i got the chance to check out the Nokia Starlight Cinema @ Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort. It is Asia's largest outdoor cinema festival and it only comes once a year. So dont miss it!

"Dear XXX,

Congratulations! As a reward for being a loyal subscriber to our database, we are rewarding you and 5 of your friends exclusive complimentary passes to Nokia presents Starlight Cinema on the 6th and 7th July this year."

Hmm, im loyal k!! *blek*

I went with my coll and her bf, straight from our office. We wanted to have a fast dinner 1st before the movie, so we dropped by @ Burger King. It wasnt a really good idea, cos we were stuck in the jam in Desa Sri Hartamas for 15 mins on our way out. Thats a very short distance only u know...

While waiting for the car to move an inch *playing with fingers*, we saw this cute human-size bear outside a Korean BBQ restaurant. If it wasnt for the leg shaking movements, we thought it was actually a plain doll. He's so cute, with its mouth smiling, as if he were inviting u to come. Well, that is basically the whole idea of its existence.. -_-

The cute bear sitting at the entrance of the Korean restaurant. Such a cutie... *muaks*

When we were about to reach the entrance of the resort, *wah la* the cars were already queuing up. This is seriously not a very good sign. My coll became panic as we parked the car super far away. PD B**ch Gal was waiting for me at the movie entrance so i ran thru the big field like a psychotic on my high heels. Yeah, I can see people laughing at us from the corner of my eyes... and my heel kept stucking into the ground. Luckily it didnt break or else i would have to walk barefoot back home.

Damn lotsa people that nite, cos coincidently, it was NTV7 Birthday Bash. There were a lot of Nokia and NTV7's VIPs invited. Happy 7th Birthday! :)

Crowded in the field area...

Side view of the BIG SCREEN.

The environment was nice, however i didnt managed to get a bed in the Citibank booth, just like Jeff. How lucky... But i do enjoy sitting/lying on the yoga mat with my cozy cushions, and we were sitting on front row, no one blocked our view :P

They were some free games for the public and i won in the dart game. Heee!

This is where i won my Nokia notepad+pen. It's so funny seeing the guy posing for me. Muahahha :D

The movie Kingdom of Heaven is not so nice lar. Kinda boring actually. My fren almost fell asleep.

"hey jane"
"yup" *eyes still nailing on the screen*
"i think i might be falling asleep soon"
"why? too boring?"
"yea, and lying like this too cozy"

Tee..hee.. =)
