Happy Halloween!

Tomoro is Halloween, a tradition originated from Ireland and that also explains why there are so many horror flicks in the cinema lately (but that doesnt mean they are really scary though).

We never celebrate Halloween in Malaysia, so i never get to experience the process of knocking on people's door asking for candies, or dressed up as creatures from underworld, or even decorated my house with carved pumpkins of scary faces.

I told this to a fren in the United States, he was not surprised. Nor did he thinks that it is anything big deal, because we have other festival such as the Chinese New Year where we can get lotsa ang pows that they dont get to experience there as well. Hmm, that is true!

Anyway, i hope i can get to "taste" some other culture's festival next time. It is gonna be fun, im sure! And i might look like a "jakun", someone just came out from a village or something. Haha.

Its rather interesting how some people from can be so obsessed with their zodiac signs. I mean, yes, u can use them as a guidance, but it is not 100% true. Everyone is unique in a way, even twins have something different between them. So i dont really think the characteristics listed for one sign can be applied to all.

On another unrelated matter, i've downloaded the movie, Silence of the Lambs. I've been hearing a lot about this particular thriller/horror/scary movie, one of the best of all times which was produced, erm.. about 15 years ago? I tried to get it sometime back, but failed. It took me 8 freaking hours last nite to get that one downloaded (minus a few hours when my broadband dropped halfway downloading).

Conclusion : Streamyx broadband - NOT reliable and NOT so FAST as it is claimed to be.

But we have no other option. -___-

I didnt sleep quite well last nite. I was trying hard to close my eyes and let my brain rest, but all i could hear was the sound of fireworks exploding in the sky. The Malay kids in my neighbourhood were already celebrating since last nite, after breaking fast. Reminds me of the old days when i was still a kid. Chinese New Year is the most-looked-forward day of the year where i could play with the fireworks (besides getting ang pows). So i could really understand how they feel.

I wanted to plan for a gathering with all my ex-trainee frens, but i didnt have the time to do so prior to the holidays. And now, its even harder when everyone is off work, and they might have already have plans. Sigh.

Anyway, its good too cos then i can have all the time to clean my disk space. No distraction.

To all the Indians out there, Happy Deepavali!

To me, this is the long stretch of holidays that i have been waiting for. Im gonna be off from work for 5 consecutive days. This is the perfect time when i could catch some sleep, been working like a zombie for the past weeks. Anyway, i dont wanna talk about work now. Holiday is holiday!

I went to Tesco in Ampang today to help my mom get some groceries. She has been nagging me to bring her here since last week, but i havent got the time to do so. Ok, i know its my fault. So today she is happy, and im happy as well cos she wont be nagging me anymore. Haha.

I bought a set of mat for my "new" car, been wanting to get that but couldnt find the correct one. So i was quite satisfied initially until the time when i was happily placing the mat into the car, darn! The colour didnt match. When i was in there, the lighting made it looks like grey, but when i came back home.. it was actually dark brown. So it looks very weird and ugly, cos my original mat was black/slight grey. So now i have to get another one, with the correct colour. This one has landed in my car boot instead. -_-

I am quite a perfectionist sometimes.. Leo, i guess.

Tomoro i'll go to some other places to scout for a better and appropriate mat, and a few other accessories for my car. My poor darling has been waiting for quite a while to get dressed up nicely. :)

Till then, i shall CLEAR the movies in my laptop. Been piling up and eating most of my disk space.

Btw, any idea on how to spend the holiday?

I am so happy for her, she finally found her right guy and started a small family of her own. Now that she is married, i cant disturb her as often as i would have done in the previous years. Haha.

Remember how i used to stick my bum at ur place when i came down for any occasions and events that involved mostly my beloved ex-colleagues in Sbn. And how crazy we talked all night long on the bed until we ended up having panda eyes the next day cos we did not have enuff sleep as a result of chatting too much. Not to forget how i cried when u guys gave me a farewell dinner on my last day in Sbn before transferring for good to Damansara (and made u cried as well..). And the times when me, u and Lee Yan always spend our time gossiping and keeping each other updated.. keke.

And lots and lots of nice memories which i will cherish for as long as i am here in this world. I miss u so much. And Lee Yan, u are coming back soon rite? i am really looking forward to see u again since our last meet up in Aussie.

As a short update for my dear Ah Yin in the Land Down Under, the wedding was really fun. Jade is very very pretty and she looked a whole lot more like Miriam Yeung after the make up (but Ah Kok claimed that she is definitely prettier than Miriam, muahaha). JC was our "jimui" (sisters of the bride - the bride's frens and not the real sisters) leader and she arranged all the games that we are going to make the groom and the "heng dai" (brothers of the groom - the groom's frens and not the real brothers) play. We caught a video of the guys doing a group dance, and a shot of Chris posing as a lady with high heels and scarf. Haha. Really crazy i tell u.

Now Jade should be having fun in Korea for her honeymoon trip. ^_^

I havent got the photos myself, we took A LOT! I have to make sure my hard disk is able to store them all. Gotta go clean some files now.

Gosh.. im cracking my head already, but luckily i had them all saved in my calendar.

Congratulations Wei Siang!

Last nite was a very happy ocassion, not only for the bride and groom but for us as well. Or should i say, crazy!

Why is that so?

U should have seen how the guys drank, oh-my-god. For as long as we were there, u could hear them yelling "yum .... seng!", but with no groom nor bride in the picture. -___-

It was like THEY were the one getting married, happily cheering and laughing. Luckily we had the corner of the restaurant by ourselves, or else, we would have been kicked out of the dinner. *hide face*

Pictures not here yet, still with my colls. But be prepared to see a red face Jeff! And some silly act along the way... *muahaha*

And as a token of appreciation for our attendance, we were given a little bag filled with sweets and a small thank you card. How thoughtful. The marketing people are really doing their job well. No wonder holding a wedding dinner nowadays cost so much.

Anyhow, there was no complain about the food. It was delicious, especially the shark fins soup. *thumbs up*

I think i will recommend this restaurant for future wedding dinners or celebrations. The restaurant is called Oriental Noble House.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding Wei Siang! May u live happily ever after! Next year another dinner for full moon? :)

Yo Daddy!

Im still very much full to the extend that i shall skip dinner tonite. I can feel that my body has only digested a quarter of the food that i've consumed during lunch. *buuurrrpppp*

Yes, u've guessed it rite. I had another deeelicious yet free lunch this afternoon at the Lemon Garden Cafe in Shangri-la Hotel. It was a celebration to mark a very good business for the 1st half of the year 2006, thus YD decided to give us a big treat. *thanks YD*

I have heard a lot of good reviews regarding the food there, but i never had the chance to try it myself. So when someone suggested Shangri-la last week, i couldnt agree more!

The buffet starts from 12pm to 2.30pm, but before the clock striked 1pm, i've already kicked the max limit. We slowed down a little, letting the digestion system to do their work before we go for the n rounds. And i chose to snap pics to let myself run a little. Hee..


The ever tempting chocolate fondue.. a unique fountain that u will never seen elsewhere *yummy*

Wish upon a moon

This morning, i was awaken by a call from my aunt. She told me to go to her hse to collect something for my mom. As reluctant as i could be, i got myself out of bed and grabbed along a cheque to be deposited into my mom's account. Monday is never a rest day for me.. :(

As soon as i reached her house, I was handed a big plastic bag by my aunt's maid. I opened it and volar.. it's a box of mooncakes from Eu Yan Sang.


Priced at RM38, very cute and suitable to be given as gifts.

Come to think about it, the Mid Autumn Festival or fondly known as the Mooncake Festival is just around the corner eg. this Friday 6th Oct 2006. How time flies, the year is gonna end soon!

Chocolate Walnut and Pearl of Prosperity.

When i was small, i used to be superbly excited on this particular day. Not because i can get to eat lotsa mooncakes (which i dont mind as well), but i get to play with the lanterns and candles all night long! I remembered i had lanterns with the shape of a rooster, fish, rabbit, and some of the cartoon characters. There was once i've accidentally burnt one, and i cried so bad until my bro had to give me his plus did some stupid faces to make me laugh again. Haha, those were the times... *day dreaming*

Now that i've grown up, this is the day where we take the opportunity to gather with family and frens, catching up with each others. For the past few years, all i did was get together with my families, had some simple dinners (sometimes we did steamboat) and chatted the whole night while the kids were having fun outside with their lanterns. Once in a while, me and my frens will organise a small "non-alcoholic" partay.. *hee*

So i've got a few mooncakes in the house, all for my mom. Ranging from Kam Lun Tai, Tai Thong, Overseas Union and Eu Yan Sang. I had enuff... *burp*

Happy 13th birthday darling! I hope u had a good time today. U are not a small girl now, so cannot always play toys with ur bro. And dont fight over petty things with him.. *hands on waist like a mother*

She is just like my own sister, i took care and baby sitted her since she was just a month old. I was the one making her milk and fed her, showered her, dressed her, putting her to sleep, taught her how to walk and talk, everything and anything. So that answers why i know almost everything about handling a baby. Even my colls (including first time mom) were amused. ^_^

Experience counts, baby...

On another unrelated matter, while i was out today with my mom, i brought her to try on the relatively new Food & Tea Hong Kong restaurant. I ordered the fried spaghetti with pork slice while she ordered pork ribs with vegetable rice. Not only the service was slow (very very different from the first time i've been there, cos there was no one else then), my mom was shocked when she first bit the pork ribs.

"hmm, the pork is cold.."
"what do u mean cold? u cant expect all the dishes are served immediately from the stove rite?" *thinking that my mom is too picky*
"the meat is not fully cooked!" *she yelled after the second bite and showed me the reddish pork meat*
"what the h*ck" *i called on the waiter*

"yes maam"
"the food is not cooked.." *mom showed her the disgusting meat*
"err.. not to say not cooked, some ppl like it this way." *still trying to defend*
"i cook at home too, and i know ppl normally dont eat pork which is not fully cooked" *fuming*
"maybe i ask the chef to fried the meat til its fully cooked again, im sorry" *took away the meat*
"u better do that" *putting on an angry face*

Mom says she will never ever come to this restaurant again. And she meant what she says..
