Cheese and chocolate steamboat

My mom took the 5am flight to Australia this morning. How i wish i could also go on holidays during this festive season. Me and my frens are out of ideas on where to go, everywhere also crowded, i dont wanna go and squeeze with the people like a sandwich girl... *sigh*

Out of desperation to go somewhere during a rainy season, we went to have Cheese and Chocolate "steamboat" @ Fondue House in Desa Seri Hartamas. I have heard about this interesting food a while ago from my colleague, and i guess it is about time to give it a try.

This business card will entitle u to a 10% discounts.

Garlic cheese served with chicken fillet, bread and crackers.

Whisky chocolate served with exotic fruits.

Overall, the price is a bit costly for the amount of food that u are getting. But i have never tried dipping food in a melted cheese nor chocolate before, so for me, it was rather enjoyable. No harm trying, but not recommended for those big eaters!! :D

After the super fattening meal, we felt abit guilty, so we went to Taman Tasik Permaisuri in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras for a short walk. The playground is like a paradise to any children on earth! I felt like i've went back to my early days...

The pink ladies ;)

I will be coming here again soon.

Long post of Singapore's trip ahead..

They have been asking for my photos, my updates about the trip in Singapore.. etc.. etc. It's gonna be super long wey, since i was there for a week. ok lar, i will try my best.

Prior to the trip, i got a new luggage bag from MV. Not that i dont have one, but the luggage bag i have at home is too big for my trip, 28" to be exact. i dont wanna look like a hobbit, for god's sake.

Mary, SK's fren came and picked us up from the Changi Airport, Singapore. We were driven to the Pan Pacific Hotel in her brand new car; Nissan Latio. It is a spacious car, with the latest security feature installed.

Oh, the pretty baby...

For the first few days, we were spoilt to the max with a lot of nice food. She sure know how to find good delicacies, i bet the local Singaporeans cant even beat her. Here is some nice photos of the food.. dont drool so much k?! :D

The CA training center located at Suntec City is kinda cool. The place is so pretty and organized. Definitely much better than the Oracle Training Center we had in KL. And a lot of working ang mohs too.

Summary of the places i went during the trip :

Suntec City
City Hall
Harbour Front
Killiney Road
Chinatown
Orchard Road
Bugis
Esplanade
Woodlands
Snow City
Merlion
Boat Quay
Clarke Quay
Singapore Zoo

Vero, Jane & Mei Ling

Err, i didnt realise i've been to so many places.. :P

Anyways, it is really nice to meet up with my frens again.

I'm back

I am back ONLINE!!!! *jumping and clapping happily*

For those of u who didnt know, i wasnt able to connect to my streamyx for the past 2 weeks. The ADSL light on my modem/router kept blinking non-stop for no particular reason. I went thru all the basic troubleshooting steps, before a report was created on my behalf by the technical support. Just like Jeff, i was told that i will have to wait for 24-48 hours for them to get the thing fixed. A good consumer i am, i agreed and waited with patience.

3 days past, the situation did not improve. I called up again, and to my anger, they have closed the report without making sure everything is alright. According to them, the technician checked the port and found out nothing is wrong. What the heck.

This is already the 3rd report, and finally the technician called and came over to my hse to check. Solution : changed the phone cable and the modem.

My new modem from ZTE Corporation, made in China.

At last, i dont have to stay back in the office just to get my work done. i can do it anytime in my comfort house, hehe :D

And i can upload all the photos of my Singapore trip.

Hope everything turns out the same for u Jeff.

Greetings from Singapore!

It has been some time...

Just thought of saying hi from Singapore. I am currently at the Computer Associates Training Center, Suntec City for an external training. This place is really nice, a whole lot better than the Oracle Training Center we got at Menara Citibank. And there are a lot of choices for food during lunch time. If i were to taste all the restaurants in Suntec City, i think i may need to stay here for a month or two.

For the past few days, I was brought to a lot of places for some nice and delicious food, thanks to SK's fren. Chinatown, Maxwell Road, Zion Hawker Centre, Killiney Road, bla.. bla.. bla... It has been more like a makan trip rather than a training trip! haha :)

Later i will be checking out from The Pan Pacific hotel (the most beautiful and luxurious accommodation i had so far). SK is going back to Malaysia today after class, cos her frens are all not free to entertain her for the weekend, one went overseas for business, another went back JB, etc..etc.. Therefore, no point for her to stay longer, rite? And she doesnt wanna join me and my frens for some "tourist activities" *hmmm*

For the next couple of days, i will be staying with my frens. Initial plan will be to visit the Singapore Zoo and the Bird Park. Im still thinking of other places, any recommendations?

Bad start for the day

This morning while i was driving to work, a stupid motorcyclist knocked my left side mirror and sped away before i could register what have actually happened... O_o

I was happily listening to the radio, while trying to overcome the sleepy mood in the usual traffic jam along Jln Ampang. And right at that moment, an idiot thought he could squeeze himself and his bike in between the stand-still cars. So, he went in full speed, acting like a stunt man! But he was damn wrong! *praaaaakkkkkk* By the time i saw the damage, everything was history. The culprit is no where to be seen, and i have to drive all the way to the office with a mislocated side mirror. Great!

Luckily the mirror still can be saved. Thanks to HK, i got the mirror back in its supposed location. Just some minor scratches here and there. *phew*

Dont ever let me see the culprit again!! *punch*

Open house @ Tmn Marida, Senawang

Sorry for putting this up so late. My streamyx has been giving me problem for the past 1 week, hence not being able to online at night. Things started when the DSL light kept on blinking and blinking, indicating the line is not stable. I called the Technical Support for a few times, and all they can do is just ask me to wait for 48 hours, and if the problem still persists, call them back again. What sort of technical assistance is that??!!

Okie, back to the topic.

Ah Kok, my coll from Seremban will be leaving us tomorrow. Instead of us giving him a farewell lunch, he organized a luncheon at his house. Those closer frens were invited to taste his mom's secret recipe *yummy*

Clockwise from back; Me, Jade, Suet Li and JC.

Honestly speaking, Ah Kok didnt exaggerate at all about his mom's great cooking skills. The dishes are really damn good. No wonder u cant slim down Ah Kok.. hahaa... too hard to resist man!

Ah Kok with the gift box (without the supposed wallet that i selected for him) :D But he is still happy..

Curry puff all the way from SS2, brought by Tam and his gf.

So are u satisfied with my post now, dear Mister Lee? Actually, he has been scolding me for not posting his "event" in my blog. *innocent look* Be more understanding a bit lar.. go and scold the Streamyx ppl!

While typing this, im still being a bit paranoid about the broadband line. Once in a while i will look at the DSL light to make sure it is not blinking. *heart beat faster and faster* Hopefully i wont get any heart attack because of this. Im definitely gonna complain kau kau if the problem still persists!! Hmmppphh...

Shabu Shabu "Syok" King

It was supposed to be a celebration for Jeff's birthday, but he was not free to entertain and accompany us. Hence, we went for the makan session on our own, without any special occasion. :)

The Shabu Shabu King restaurant @ SS2 claims that they serve nice Japanese steamboat, but i really dont see any difference from the normal Chinese steamboat that we have.

Kimchi soup, but doesnt taste like one at all!

Normal clear soup.

The place in kinda small, so i would suggest u dont go in big crowd if u wanna try it out. Ideal group should be around 6 pax. Food selection is rather limited... therefore, there is really nothing great to shout about. The best thing that i could really recall about this place is their more advanced steamboat equipment *points to the pic* .. hehe.. other places still use the conventional gas stove *_*

Anyways, it was a good outing with my colleagues. Organizer, please plan more of these kind of activities please! *getting hungry*

Not so efficient government officer...

They got their 5 working days proposal approved.
They got their salary scheme reviewed and raised.
But if u think that these people are supposed to be more efficient now, then u will be caught in disappointment. -_-

I went to the Immigration Office in Pusat Bandar Damansara yesterday to get myself a new passport (the previous one expired last year). I was forced to spend 4 hours there, just to get an approximately 5 minutes of dealing with the officer at the counter, while the remaining time are idle... waiting.... O_o

The few reasons that i could think of for the turn up of the major crowd:

  1. The KL's branch of Immigration Dept @ Wilayah building has been closed down and moved back to PBD. (that is where i have been before coming here, damn)
  2. The long school holidays are coming, and ppl are rushing to get their passport done to travel.
  3. The officers are superbly slow, hence the long queue.
  4. Ppl are getting richer nowadays that they can spend more for travelling.
  5. The citizens got nothing better to do than to waste their time here.
  6. Im just simply unlucky....
No matter what the reasons are, the result is still the same.. wait, wait and WAIT!

Done with the bitching part.

And here comes the happy part. It is Jeff's birthday today, but he is on leave, probably celebrating with the special one. ^_^ So i will just post the wishes here on my blog, cos i am pretty sure he will get to read it.

ALL THE BEST IN YOUR FUTURE UNDERTAKINGS!
HAVE A NICE AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Bali...nese?

Bali is a famous tourist attraction place in Indonesia, i'm sure everyone knows that. But do u know what does a Balinese food taste like?

When Clive said he wanna bring me to have Balinese food in Puchong, my mind keeps on wondering what sort of food are they serving? Malay food? Cos Bali is located in Indonesia *logically thinking* Anyway, it is gotta be good!

Bumbu Bali, it is called. A restaurant with a very nice environment, cosy and yet, mysteriously interesting. It was decorated with alot of wood carved in a special kind of way, which really made u feel like u are physically dining in Bali. Not bad.. not bad.

And i have my question answered. The food is a mixture of Vietnamese, Cambodian and Indon style. Hot and spicy! *burning flame*

We ordered a few dishes for sharing, and the waiter stopped us halfway, cos he was shocked that we ordered so much for 2 person. He was more worry than us that we couldnt finish the meal. So we cut the order short. :P

And yes, he was right, we couldnt finish them. I felt really bad for forcing Clive to clear the plate.. haha, erm, i bet next time u wouldnt dare to order so much when u eat with me. *ngek*ngek*ngek*

Later that night, we headed to Winter Warmers @ The Curve for a drink. The place is well known for its pancake, but my stomach just couldnt take anymore.

By the way, nice Apple notebook u got there! I like white.. and blue!
